Carrbridge

Carbridge is attractive small village popular for walking and cycling. The village takes its name from the Old Packhorse Bridge which crosses the River Dulnain in the village centre.

You can still see the bridge, although due to its age and condition, it is no longer possible to cross. Built in 1717, it is the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands. It has extremely steep approaches from either side and almost defies gravity in staying up.

Run by Cairn Hotel, this horsebox next to the village car park opened in summer 2025. We enjoyed a cinnamon swirl from here.
